Rim Drive is the name of a very scenic 33-mile (53 km) drive loop located in Crater Lake National Park. It provides stunning views and is perfect for a leisurely ride. A drive not to be missed. There are plenty of view points and lookouts along. At its lowest point, Rim Drive is 6,500 feet (2,000 m) above the sea level. The road reaches 7,877 feet (2,401m) at its highest point on top of Cloudcap. The road is narrow, winding, and does not have shoulders. Beware of bicyclists. Rim Drive is only open during the summer typically from July to October. Large recreational vehicles, buses, and vehicles with a tow, are permitted but could have difficulty navigating the drive especially during high visitation.

Taylor Pass is at an elevation of 3.642m (11,948ft), on (official name Forest Service Road 15C) a road of the highest in Colorado. Road requires experience plus a 4x4 vehicle with high clearance. Agppart it is very steep, 20% maximum gradient and 10% average, is also rocky with boulders scattered. But, a great alpine drive inside Colorado’s most spectacular scenery within the Gunnison National Forest. It is impassable from October to July. Extra attention in one creek crossing fairly challenging. Go slow when the trail enters the creek, there can be some deep holes in there. Road starts at the paved Castle Creek Road and it takes 7.5km (4.7 miles) to reach the summit. The north side of Taylor Pass gives access to Gold Hill and Difficult Pass.
