Highway 4 or better known as Pacific Rim Highway, is a very scenic 170km paved drive connecting Parksville and Tofino. Along the way you can experience the romantic isolation of the region. The drive is definitely worth it. The Pacific Rim Highway runs
through Vancouver Island’s rugged mountain backbone. This route is a steep, twisting mountain highway that often lacks shoulders. Heavy summer traffic compounds a hazardous situation. During stormy months the section between Sproat Lake and the west coast can be extremely wet. It’s subject to flooding. The highway cuts across the forested spine of the island.
