Sherman Pass is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 2.804m (9,200ft), of the highest in California. The road features lots of twists and turns. The road, called Sherman Pass road, to the summit is asphalted but scenic with lots of twists and turns with
excessive grades. Road is usually open from late May or early June, depending on snow, until the snow falls in late fall or winter. Summit offers stunning views of the Sierra Crest and Mount Whitney. It is one of the most remote, hottest and remote climbs in California.
