Mineral King Road is a stunning drive, 39.91km (24.8 miles) long, claiming to have 398 curves in just 25 miles. Road is mostly paved, but sometimes very good gravel or dirt, and eventually becomes a trail. The early part of the trail follows the old mining
access road. The drive is very steep, ending at 2.398m (7,867ft) above the sea level. It has an average grade of 5.1% but has stretches between 15-20% in places. The road is very narrow and has few guard rails. This long, narrow, winding, and unpaved road for several miles is full of twists, turns and bumps. Mineral King Road is open from Memorial Day weekend through October. RVs and trailers are not recommended.
